About Mental Rotation

This tool is a cognitive stimulation exercise built on the classic mental rotation task: a figure is shown, and the job is to decide whether a turned copy is the same figure or its mirror image. The only way to be sure is to turn the figure in your mind, and the screen times how long that takes. Bigger turns take longer, and the gap between small and large turns, the rotation cost, is the number to watch across sessions. Block figures are generated fresh every round and are always built so that a mirror image can never pass for a turn; the letter set uses the familiar version of the task.

It’s built for occupational therapists, caregivers, and anyone practicing spatial reasoning and visual perception, and it runs in any browser with no setup. Responses are simple taps on large options, one item at a time, at the person’s own pace. Mental Rotation is a practice and cognitive stimulation tool, not a standardized assessment, and no patient information is collected or stored.
