Circles first, then squares, changing at each switch sign.

Each sign opens a row.

This is a practice activity, not a test or an assessment. It makes no claim to change attention, and it does not replace the advice of the person's own healthcare team.

About Rule Switch

A page of shapes appears, laid out like the printed Switch on the cue worksheet. The person works along each row and taps every shape the rule asks for, which crosses it out; a second tap takes the cross away. Here and there a switch sign sits in the row with a new shape inside it, and from there on the new shape is the one to cross out, until the next sign.

The round ends with plain counts: the shapes to cross out, what was crossed out and missed, extra crosses, the time taken, and the first three shapes after each switch sign beside the rest of the page. The answer key can be shown over the page afterwards. Read aloud, large print and high contrast are always free.

It is designed to support alternating attention practice for adults after stroke or brain injury, in sessions and at the kitchen table. Nothing is typed and no microphone is used.
