About Figure & Ground
Figure & Ground is a cognitive stimulation exercise for visual perception: overlapping outline shapes share one field, drawn in the same ink at the same line weight, and the task is to follow each contour and pick the target shapes out of the tangle. Find rounds hide a handful of one shape among distractors; count-sweep rounds work through one board three times — circles, then squares, then triangles — the interactive version of a classic shape-counting worksheet, with the difference that missed shapes are revealed in place rather than lost in a wrong total.
It’s built for occupational therapists, caregivers, and anyone practicing visual perception, and it runs in any browser with no setup — open it and go. Every round is a fresh board: adjust the number of shapes, how heavily they overlap, line weight, rotation, and size variation to suit the person in front of you. Figure & Ground is a practice and cognitive stimulation tool, not a standardized assessment, and no patient information is collected or stored.
