Who it suits
A person living with dementia who finds words hard to reach, and a carer offering a few everyday choices.
For the helper: put on their glasses and hearing aids, say the board title out loud, wait while the person points, say the word out loud, and confirm with Yes or No.
Common questions
How does a picture board help someone with dementia?
Choosing from pictures is easier than finding words, so a board with a few everyday options makes a question like "what would you like?" simpler to answer. The large print and plain pictures are chosen for older eyes.
Can I use photos of the person's own things?
Yes. Take a photo of their own cup, chair or garden on your phone or tablet and put it on a square. Photos stay on your device and never leave it.

Boards made here are designed to support everyday communication between a person and their helpers.
