Attention and scanning tools
Finding the right line on a form, checking a shelf for one item, keeping going with a dull job, and switching when the rule changes: attention runs through the whole day. After a stroke or a brain injury it often tires first, and scanning can favor one side of the page.
These tools practice it in small, clear pieces. Trail Making and Visual Search are scanning tasks with a target to find. Symbol Match and Visual Vigilance ask for speed and staying power. Spot the Difference and Same or Different are careful comparison. Rule Switch changes the rule partway through a page, the alternating attention task from the worksheets.

Using these tools
- Start with a short round of Visual Search or Trail Making, large print on, and watch where the eyes go before anything else.
- Results on the scanning tools are split by left and right side; a difference between sides is worth noting across rounds played the same way.
- Keep rounds short and stop while they still go well; attention is the skill that fades first in a session.
Practice and cognitive stimulation tools, not assessments or treatment. Nothing about the people who practice is stored.
